Re: Can't hear recordings
I am inserting the jack into the microphone socket in my stereo which is connected to a deck Has this ever worked? Microphone sockets are usually designed for microphones, which produce a very different signal to turntable. Sometimes the microphone socket is designed to work only with a microphone....

Re: Can't hear recordings
When you record you should see a blue wiggly waveform appear in the track - ideally about half of the height of the track - do you see something like this?

Re: Unable to convert .aup to mp3 - lame issue.
Ah ha - it all comes clear now. I bet that you've only ever used Windows computers - Windows has a habit of making things "easy" for users. One thing that it does is to automatically add a file extension and hide it from the user. In itself that would probably not be too much of a problem,...

Re: Unable to convert .aup to mp3 - lame issue.
Do you have a program that can make .ZIP archives? If not you can get Izarc free from here: http://www.izarc.org/ If you "archive" the .10 file as a zip file, then you should be able to upload it. Try this and see what happens: (ensure that Windows is set to show all file extensions http:/...

Re: Problem with a long recording
If you exported as a WAV file, the WAV format only supports files up to 4 GB maximum. Attempting to create a WAV file bigger than this will cause data corruption in the file because the format can't handle that much data correctly. On some older machines the limit is only 2 GB due to other limitatio...

Re: Metadata template does not save as xml file
Check that Windows is showing the file extensions: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=193
Then open the Metatag Editor from the File menu - enter some details and click on the Save button in the editor window.
Navigate to your desktop and use the default file name (tags.xml). Does that work?

Re: Isolating dialogue from a ripped AC3 file
What you are asking is called "vocal isolation" - it is "sort of" possible sometimes, but usually the sound quality suffers a lot . Audacity does not have this capability built in, but there are VST effects that claim to be able to do vocal isolation (such as "ExtraBoy"...

Re: Unable to convert .aup to mp3 - lame issue.
I have read every forum and tried unistalling and reinstalling audacity. Then you will know that un-installing and re-installing never makes any difference. I have also tried to creating a wav file and that does not work either. That would indicate that there is a more general computer problem that...
