Re: Multitrack recording - direct to Audacity or external de

Unless you have built Audacity from the source code and manually added ASIO support, ASIO will not be supported by Audacity. Most multi-channel sound cards in Audacity require that you record using either 1 channel, 2 channels, or ALL of the channels (which I would assume is 8 for your device). If y...

Use the official web-site: http://www.elevayta.net/product13.htm
Being wary of unofficial download sites is very sensible - unofficial download sites are a really easy way to get viruses and other malware as well as ending up on spam lists.

Re: Noise Removal Tests

The part that bothers me most about the Audacity NR effect is the low frequency "beats". I wonder if that's caused by "overlapping frames" that are at a lower frequency than 80 Hz and don't overlap very well. I've not come across this type of artefact in any other Noise Removal a...

Re: Burning CD

The "Snap to" seems too compliacted and in any case outside my scope, although I have (as instructed) set the time scale to "cdda min:sec:frames 75fps" and snap to "on". Don't worry about "Snap To", just leave it off (not selected). Nero is sufficiently sophi...

Re: Baby Crying in the background on my sons wedding..now wh

I would highly recommend Audacity 1.3.12 on all platforms. 1.2.6 is now very old and unmaintained. Unfortunately even Audacity 1.3.12 will have trouble dealing with the baby crying problem. It is the audio equivalent to putting your finger in front of the camera lens. You may be able to get some imp...

Try the Delay (delayfli.ny) effect from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/nyquistplugins

Re: Noise Removal Tests

There's a free tool that may help in comparing the performance of different Noise Removal methods
http://libinst.com/Audio%20DiffMaker.htm

It's a Windows program, but works perfectly in Wine.

Re: Monitoring while recording new track with mic

I'm glad you've got it working, though I'd still highly recommend upgrading - if you just want to try it but keep the 1.2.6 version than you can have both versions installed at the same time. The limitations are that Audacity 1.2.6 cannot open projects that are save by Audacity 1.3.12. Also, you can...
