Re: words hidden in this wav?
I agree that there are some voice-like tones in the background, but I think they are due to certain resonances rather than actual human speech. The tones in the foreground can be partially removed using notch filters, but the sweeping tones cannot be removed so readily. If there is any real human vo...

Re: Default Language Issue
For anyone having the same issue the Wiki file isn't correct The wiki is correct, but you have discovered the other way to do it (through Audacity Preferences). The reason that the wiki describes the method of editing the audacity.cfg file rather than making the change through the Preferences optio...

Re: Audacity Installation unwanted changes.
It may not be a virus. It may be a particularly aggressive ad campaign. But whatever it is, it is not part of Audacity. Audacity has never included any adware - the source code for Audacity is freely available for anyone to check: http://code.google.com/p/audacity/downloads/list?can=1&q=&co...

Re: Noise Removal settings and useage
At what point in the "process" do you apply the NR Tool? There are a few variations on this, but as a general guide these are the steps for cleaning vinyl recordings with the Audacity effects listed in brackets (it may not be necessary to apply all of these steps and tools other than thos...

Re: Writing Cue Sheets to CD
taking a cursory glance at his answer, I see he never mentions TOC I did, but through the analogy that computers use when reading Audio CDs. The .CDA files that are shown when you look at the contents of a CD on a computer do not really exist on the CD. They are "made up" by the computer....

Re: Add Waveform Options to Isochronic Modulator Plug-in
Congratulations GendeDios, you have made it work :) So there is now the question of the modulation depth, which you have noticed is not quite correct. Would you prefer that I just fix it so that you can use the effect, or would you prefer that I explain how the code functions so that you can make yo...

Re: Using a compressor whilst recording
Audacity does not do real-time processing. Set the recording level low enough so that you do not get any clipping (aiming for a peak level of about -6 dB is a good general guide). You can then use the Amplify effect (after recording) to increase the peak level closer to 0 dB and optionally apply dyn...
