Re: Make a single speaker wav playing in both channel in AC?
Audacity 1.2.6 i didnt taut it mattered so mutch that "6" Just checking that you're not using 1.3.12 (you'd be surprised how many people post on the wrong board). Click on the name of the track and from the drop down menu select "Split Stereo Track" Use the [x] button in the top...

Re: New noise removal algorithm
Actually I may not have been correct. The version I was using was Sept 20th build which does not have the "Signal Profile". I wasn't aware that between the 20th and the 23rd the new experimental Noise Removal had been enabled.

Re: New plug-in: Channel Mixer
Thanks, Steve. I found a superfluous "A:" in the new FAQs plus of course you want sometime to add the new "Extra Narrow" and "Narrow Stereo" presets into it. Maybe it would be good to have the presets in the FAQ in the same order as they are in the plug-in? Might it be...

Re: Notch Filter
Sorry if that last post appeared rather brusk, it was posted in a rush. Having given it some consideration; I think that for accuracy the name of the Q control should be "Q" or "Q factor" rather than "Width" but by including "(higher value reduces width)" the ...

Re: Can Audacity support other incoming sampling rate?
I'm not sure where (or if) it's documented, but Audacity supports sample rates up to 200 kHz. In Audacity 1.3.12 (which is the version that you should be using - look in "Help menu > About Audacity" to check) the default recording sample rate is set by going to: Edit menu > Preferences > Q...

Re: Make a single speaker wav playing in both channel in AC?
You are correct that the sliders on the left will not make both channels active. Before we go off on the wrong track - Which version of Audacity are you using? (look in "Help menu > About Audacity") Apart from being only in the left channel, does that WAV file play alright? It looks horrib...

Re: DVD audio ripper
Koz was just referring (in his usual idiosyncratic way ;) ) that there can be huge differences to the method of getting the audio from the DVD depending on what sort of DVD it is. Professional DVDs (usually recorded with big professional cameras) may have multi-channel encoded sound (so that it can ...

Re: Notch Filter
The choice of slider range is a balance for what will be most useful / convenient. Using notch filters above 10 kHz is probably not very common, but when used it will probably need an exact value that would be much more easily entered by typing. The plug-in will accept typed values up to the Nyquist...

The more precise, but much more arduous method is to use the Envelope tool: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... elope_Tool
