I was hoping this issue would be old hat and a resolution would be easy. Very easy fix. 1. Remove your current version of Audacity + manual from wherever you have installed them. 2. Audacity cannot ship with ASIO support (licensing reasons), so it cannot be used with ASIO applications.

It's a known bug, so you don't need to do anything with the bug report (it has been fixed for the next release). The crash only occurs with stereo tracks, so as a workaround you could split the track (to left and right "mono" tracks) before applying the effect. (See: https://manual.audacit...
