Re: Choose defaults in the 'Export multiple' menu box

Is there a way to set these preferences as defaults? No there isn't. The first item is especially important to me, as I occasionally forget to check the box myself, What is the benefit for your task of not adding a label for the start of the first exported file? In other words, why do you add a lab...

Re: Recording at 32 bit and 352800 Hz

Is there any advantage in recording at 32 bit and 352800 Hz? 32-bit float has advantages when processing the audio. Audacity records in 32-bit float by default. 44100 Hz sample rate is the minimum for full bandwidth audio and is the standard for audio CDs. 48000 Hz sample rate is the standard for D...

I'm that kind of person who believes that leaving some bits here, some bytes there, will eventually, make my system run slower :D
Whereas I'm that kind of person that likes to do a clean install every few years :D

Re: Bug - Crash after using High Qualitty Stretching

If for some reason I want to uninstall, which is the best way to do it? Personally, I wouldn't bother. I'd just delete the menu entry :) If you really want to, then delete: /usr/local/share/audacity/ /usr/local/share/applications/audacity.desktop /usr/local/share/appdata/audacity.appdata.xml /usr/l...

Re: Looking for a good way to write a program to control record times.

I can use this program to start recording but when I add a label, it gets added but the recording stops. Why is that? Is there a fix? Scripting commands are in most cases very similar to normal keyboard commands, though in some cases there are some subtle differences. One of those differences is ap...

Re: Bug - Crash after using High Qualitty Stretching

I think I need to uninstall Audacity first, right? Assuming that you previously installed your build to the default location, you can simply install your new build over the top of the older version. This is not the case when replacing a repository version with a new build - in this case the reposit...
