Re: Problem Importing WAV Files
"SUPER" by erightsoft is a free format converter (transcoder) program that is able to analyse and convert most media formats. This program would allow you to see exactly what format and what codecs were used. It will probably also be able to decode the files into 16 bit WAV format that can...
Re: No sound
You are probably either outputting from Audacity to the wrong audio output, or, if on Vista/Win 7, you have it muted. For a more detailed reply you will need to say which version of Audacity, which version of Windows, and what sort of sound card(s) you have (also if you have any USB audio devices at...

Re: Trying to record from a software sound source on XP
Some sound cards have an option in the recording mixer to set "MIDI" or "SYNTH" as the input source (which, if it is available, records from the default MIDI synthesizer output). I only recall seeing this feature on XP (and earlier) but not on Vista. If you've not got that option...

Re: Preview of Equalization with long filters
My guess is that it depends on the speed and efficiency of your computer and sound card. I used to get that type of issue quite a lot on my old (500 KHz) computer, but on my new(ish) Aspire 5735 laptop it will play the preview fine regardless of the filter length. However, if I'm working on a projec...

Re: Missing 10 KHz grid line
The grid lines are drawn dynamically according to the sample rate of the audio that is being analysed and how big the display is.
For more grid lines, resize the Plot Spectrum window so that it is bigger.

Re: funny sound of a record
the waveform with these recordings normally exceeds the field, i mean the darker blue parts, but even if i make their line narrower, they fit into the field but still look exceeding, they do not show their darker blue sharp peaks. I think that you may be recording too loud and so causing distortion...

Configure USB sound card on Vista
These are the steps for configuring Windows Vista for recording from a Behringer UCA 202. The steps for other USB sound cards on both Vista and Windows 7 are likely to be similar. I would recommend following this list carefully step-by-step, including the "optional" steps. To configure Rec...
