Does the MP3 file play OK before you upload it to your website? If it does, then the problem is likely to be with the website rather than the file.
Does it play OK locally?

Re: Right channel values are off the chart

Even if you do go for a deskside machine and a good internal sound card, they're never as good as the sound cards integrated at the factory -- like the Macs. Sorry but that's just Mac Hype. The built in sound card in a Mac is usually a lot better than the on-board sound card in most PCs, but a some...

Quite right.

See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war
and here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... Compressor

Re: Unable to record

Computer sound cards typically have more than one input. For example on a Desktop computer it is usual to have a "Line in" socket, a"Microphone" socket and may also have a CD input (connected to the optical drive inside the computer) and perhaps other internal inputs. In order to...

Re: Plug-in for Audio/MP3 to Text for Audacity

Speech recognition is very difficult to do. Both Dragon and Microsoft have spent vast resources in getting it to its current state and have their code tightly wrapped up in patents. There is a summary of the current/recent state of speech recognition open source software here: http://en.wikipedia.or...

Re: "Target Fade" effect

The attached cut out of a pop song always returns "did not return audio" or "returned <number>" with both target fades. Sorry, I should have said - these are just "demo" versions and only support (1 channel) mono tracks. To process a stereo track, just split the stereo...

Re: continuous tone removal problem

This is a section of the Plot Spectrum window - I've turned off the grid to make it easier to see. This is an analysis of the silence at around 3.5 to 4.5 seconds. The thing to notice is that thin spike, which is the whistle. Screenshot.png Placing the cursor exactly on the spike will give a fairly ...

Re: continuous tone removal problem

It has a width (Q) and a frequency control.
I've not listened to the sample yet, but going on what Koz has said, try the frequency set to about 17560 and the Q set to 2.
Also try it at 1753 and at 1771. Pick the best of the three.

Re: Plug-in for Audio/MP3 to Text for Audacity

If you mean "speech recognition", there isn't an Audacity plug-in to do that.
Perhaps something like "Dragon Naturally Speaking"?

Thanks Irish - and that explains why I'm not getting the sound.
