Re: Recording multiple input sources at once
Audacity supports ONE recording device at a time. Multichannel recording is possible ONLY if the multiple inputs are presented to Audacity as a single device. With only a standard PC, the best way to record multiple inputs is to record one, then record another over the top. You will need a pair of h...

Re: Recording Skype Conversation
however, the microphone is being recorded but Audacity is unable to capture the playback, may be I am doing something wrong No you're not doing anything wrong. Skype automatically grabs the microphone input as an exclusive input, so you can only record one side of the conversation. It is possible t...

Re: VST Instrument plugins
I've moved this topic to the "Adding Features" section. I very much doubt that VSTi support will be added in the short or medium term (if ever). Audacity is not a "real-time" processing application - the only real-time thing that it does is play and record. To support VSTi would ...

Re: Submit your EQ Curves
Is that possible given the empty track is created before applying the plug-in? I don't know. Or is Audacity detecting what output the plug-in has before it's applied? I suspect that when there is no "return", Audacity sees that as an error, then outputs the error message " Nyquist di...

Re: Fixing a stereo fm recording
No, you can't. This is the stereo portion of the recording. One mono track is the original left channel and the other is the original right channel. Deleting one track would throw out half the show. Not really "half" of the show - it depends how much stereo separation there was originally...

Re: midi to mp3-no audio
You can do a google search on converting midi to mp3 MIDI is not audio. "Converting" MIDI to audio is like "converting" a musical score into audio or "converting" a book into spoken words. Anyone that says that MIDI can be converted into MP3 is either misleading you or...

Re: loud recording volume
It odesn't look greyed out to me That's what I thought at first, but we're not looking at the right picture: audacity19thoct.JPG The Recording volume is greyed out. This is normal for USB devices on Windows XP. The only way to control the input level is by adjusting the signal going into the USB de...

Re: Severside based version of Audacity
The problem is that there is far too much latency across the internet to have interactive Audacity sessions (which I think is what you are wanting to do). On Linux it is possible to patch the local sound system into a VOIP application so that someone at a remote location can hear what is being playe...

Re: Submit your EQ Curves
We can't prevent 78EQCurveGen.ny creating an empty track, I take it, after writing the curve? I don't know enough about Nyquist to say for certain, but I'm guessing not. I assume this is because it is written as a "Generate" plug-in. If it were an "Analyze" plug-in, i think it w...

Unfortunately the first two help screens do not fit on a 1366 x 768 screen on Linux due to lines wrapping.
