Re: Can't find Recovery Files Path
Fine program, but Audacities documentation is driving me crazy. I want to use the Recovery tool but the most essential information about it is missing: Do you mean this documentation? http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/CrashRecovery The first paragraph says: * If you had never saved an Audacity proj...

Re: Guitar to USB problem!!
I connected the guitar through that connector + a 3.5 mm to usb converter + a usb extension to my PC's usb port and Windows won't recognize it!! Could you say that again using different words. Guitars usually have 1/4" (6.35mm) mono jack sockets. I'm not sure what you have between the guitars'...

Re: Check out this little trick I discovered!
The advantage of the OP's method is that you can vary the gain slider on the rendered track until you get the effect you want, then mix and render everything. With the Channel Mixer you'd have to choose some settings, apply it, then undo and try again if you didn't like it A quick "hybrid"...

Re: Check out this little trick I discovered!
How do I get an exact duplicate of what I get doing it manually? There was one area of "vagueness" in your description: "From here, you can mix and render if you like the way it sounds" So what is the exact "formula" of your method? For the new Left Channel: How many %...
Re: Recording
I have a new PC a HP6710B. I have tried several times to record a demo from pioneer cdjs and mixers. I am running an AUX cable out of the mixer and in to the AUX in on the PC. The HP6710B does not have an "AUX" input. The only audio inputs listed for the HP6710B are: "stereo micropho...

Re: How can i normalize to nearly 0dB?
With the Normalize effect you can set the peak amplitude to whatever you want. IIRC the default in Audacity 1.2.x is -3dB If you want it a bit higher, try setting to something like -0.2 dB. I'd also recommend upgrading to Audacity 1.3.12 as there have been many improvements and bug fixes. The defaul...

Re: Sound cuts in and out, HELP!
It sounds like you have inadvertently deleted some of the project data.

Re: Waveform present, playback silent
I wanted to see if anyone else has run into this problem and if so, what a potential solution might be. The problem is probably due to using Audacity 1.2.6 - this version is known to have problems on modern computers and it will not be fixed as all current development is on Audacity 1.3.x which is ...

Re: Amplifying Vocal Track
Can I separate the vocal track from the music and then amplify the vocals only. If the vocal is recorded on a separate track from the rest of the music then it is very easy to do. If the vocal is mixed in with rest of the music on the same track then it is virtually impossible. A "trick" ...
