Re: Intel atom 330 and recording vocals

Is it possible with these specs to record vocals over a mp3 beat with a microphone plugged in to a external soundcard (emu 0404) without any worries of the sound? Why is everyone going on about ASIO? Virtually all sound cards are supplied with standard Windows drivers which will work with Audacity....

Re: dbx noise removal

Just stopped around to say that I had some success in decoding dBx type II using this plugin: http://pdf23ds.net/software/dynamic-compressor/ .... Result is acceptable (the volume pumping is gone), but probably not the most accurate decoding. Very nice tip jpa. I wonder if you would be able to make...

Re: understanding peak-meters

Audacity only meters the top half of the blue waves. Not the bottom. It may have been corrected since I saw this problem. The meters show both peak and RMS values by using two different shades of green (playback meter) or red (recording meter). The (higher) darker shade is the peak measurement and ...

Re: Pitch Bend Effect Please?

Audacity 1.3.12 "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift" in the "Effect" menu. It's not particularly easy to use and the current version has the sliders set the wrong way round, but with a bit of effort you will probably be able to achieve the required effect. Note that all "time ...

Re: Recording what I hear?

there doesn't seem to be any option on the mac other than line in or microphone as an input? That's correct. Macs don't do "stereo mix" recording. There are some software applications for Mac that provide a means of recording sounds playing on the computer. Have a look at Soundflower, Wir...

Re: Loss of Project File

Probably not, or at least not without spending months of mind numbing work doing it.
Just on the remote possibility that the odds are better than they first appear, what exactly do you mean "I have all of the Data File" and how did you "loose" the Project File?

Re: export recordings to tuxguitar or guitarpro

Yes you can record the guitar in Audacity.
Yes you can make tablature with tuxguitar or guitarpro.
No you can't import an audio recording into tuxguitar or guitarpro and have it automatically converted to tab.

Tuxguitar and GuitarPro are MIDI programs. MIDI is not audio.

They're impressive samples. Are you going to expound on how you accomplished it or is it just an advert?

Re: Matching subsequent recordings with click track

Set up the Latency correction as described here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... tency_Test
It's then only a matter of playing in time :)

Re: Paste/replace

I'm using 1.13.12-beta. Is there a way to select the precise length segment as my selection, other than manually doing it by eye? Thanks. I would normally do it the way described by Koz, or a slight variation: 1) Put the audio to be "pasted" on a new track. 2) If necessary, drag the new t...
