Re: Burning

You will need to Export the audio as a WAV file.
Ensure that the Project Rate is set to 44100 (look in the bottom left corner of the main Audacity window).

See here for burning audio CDs: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/How_to_burn_CDs

Re: understanding peak-meters

So Audacity takes the maximum value inside a buffer of samples, but only the positive ones (and this seems to be an issue). Yes it appears to do so, but in normal recording practice it would a very rare occurrence for it to be a significant problem. It is however a little disconcerting that the lef...

Re: Mixing a Live Band from a Zoom H4n Stereo Recording?

I agree about boosting the treble (centred somewhere around 2.5 kHz) to bring out the vocal, but what else you do depends on the kind of sound you want. The bass can be tightened up (made less muddy) while retaining most of the low bass by just cutting frequencies around 200-250Hz. Compression can h...

Re: Recording Issue - Windows 7

What you are missing is support for "Stereo Mix" by the sound card driver. Increasingly the "Stereo Mix" option is being dropped, and if the sound card driver does not support "Stereo Mix" recording, then you can't record sounds that are playing on the computer. The fir...

Does the RealTek control panel look something like this: http://wiki.secondlife.com/w/images/6/6d/Torley-Realtek-settings.png If it does, ensure that the "Stereo Mix" input (in the lower "Record" half of the picture) is not muted. The Red X below the "CD Volume" and &qu...

Re: Exported File Produces No Sound

I am having the same problem. File playsback fine in Audacity but when I try and export the file just gives a "click" then nothing at all. Any idea why this is happening? You will need to give a lot more information. Are you Exporting them as "16 bit (Microsoft) PCM WAV" files? ...

I believe that there are legal/licensing issues that prevent that from being done.

Re: Specifying loop points and note data in an AIFF file?

The short answer is that Audacity does not support loop points.
The longer answer is that there is more than one type of AIFF file. There's a lot of information about AIFF in this Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Inte ... ile_Format
