Re: Feature Request: Automatic Loop Finder

There is currently no automatic way of doing this in Audacity.
It sounds like it could be a possible application for a proposed feature called "Audio Diff": http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Proposal_Audio_Diff

Re: Problem recording computer audio

You may be best to ask about this on the PCLinuxOS forum as that set-up looks like it is specific to PCLinuxOS. If you are not able to get help from there, you could try installing PulseAudio Device Chooser and PulseAudio Volume Control. Then select "Enable Pulse Audio" in the screen that ...

Re: Can't open my audacity file error5 : access is denied

Avoid using dots in file/folder names. "Safe" characters to use are letters, numbers, hyphen, space and underscore. Other characters can cause problems as they can confuse the operating system. It's going to be a bit tricky to salvage this project. What you need to do is the change the nam...

Re: Input control on 10.10

There are two volume controls that both have an effect. There is the PulseAudio Volume Control (do you have that installed?) and the "normal" Gnome Volume Control. The Gnome Volume Control acts directly on ALSA. If you open up a Terminal Window and type "alsamixer" (without quote...

It could also be amusing if you use the Change Tempo effect to make the song much faster or slower.
The Change Tempo effect will reduce the sound quality, but in this case that is good.

Re: Recording BBC Radio programmes

Do your speakers have a volume control on them? If they do, turn down the volume on the speakers really low, and turn up the volume on the RealTek control panel to maximum. Does that improve the recording?

Re: Problem recording computer audio

Do you know if the computer uses pulseaudio as the default sound service? I've seen on Google that pulseaudio is available, but I've not found if it is the default or an optional extra. The instructions that you were following should work for a straight ALSA setup but if you have pulseaudio its a bi...

Re: Windows 98

Have you guys been able to make audacity work with windows 98? It's running pretty slow for me. Yes I've used Audacity with Win 98, but the last time was about 8 years ago. As far as I remember it ran OK. What specification is the computer and why are you using Windows 98? Windows 98 does not have ...
