Re: burning a disc
For Windows Vista you should be using Audacity 1.3.12 You can download it from the main Audacity web-site: http://audacityteam.org/download/ With Audacity 1.3.12 the default settings should work if you select "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM" as the Export format. Let us know if that wor...

Re: Removing one vocal, leaving another
Are the voices both speaking at the same time?sypherzoa wrote:Is there a way to take one of two voices out of a clip without messing with the other?
Are both voices mixed together on the same audio track?
If "yes" to both questions, then go with Koz's answer.

Is it visible and "available" in the Windows Control Panel?
Open Audacity after checking that it is available in the Windows Control Panel.

And we were assuming that you were using the "Mic" in because it was the only input available (as it is on many laptops).MasterOfPuppets wrote: I solved the problem by taking the phonograph to my desktop and plugged it into the audio line in.
Glad you've got it working, and thanks for getting back to us.

Re: Audio Gets Clipped No Matter What Input Level
I'm using the headphone out on my phonograph and sending it straight into the mic in line. I assumed it was clipping because the top of the audio looks flat, but I guess not since it does not go past the top. I agree that the screenshot does look similar to clipping, though as Koz suggested it look...

Re: Why are files always saved differently?
I read that it involves an element of randomness. Yes it does. The reason that it occurs with 16 bit WAV files but not with 24 or 32 bit WAV files is because with 16 bit files, Audacity is needing to down-sample the bit depth from the format that it uses internally, and the lower resolution of the ...

Re: add-on?
When recording, while listening to playback, the 'recording' track doubles the playback track even if i never hit a single note.if i do use the mic or board this compounds my situation.disabling playback leaves me with no reference to how 'offsync' i am with the previous track. If you are recording...

Sorry, typo error.plainolguy wrote: I`m curious, why not have the darker green on the signal bar as the first color if it is the average signal? I had presumed the opposite circumstance regarding the bar`s colors as I now see them.
The dark green is the peak level. The light green is the RMS level.

Re: Creating Chapters like Garage band (help!)
It may be possible within a GarageBand project, but as far as I'm aware it is not possible to make "chapter marks" in MP3s. Depending on what device you are intending to play the files on, you could perhaps split the track into a number of smaller files, then use a playlist to play each of...
