Re: How to fix rushing / stabilize tempo?

It's quite tricky to get it right, but the tools for the job are either "Change Tempo" or "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift" The latter effect works very slowly. The first thing to do is to find the points where the tempo changes, and work out exactly how much the it needs slowin...

Re: Pitch correction

You don't need to install anything else other than: "Download GSnap (Size 157k, last modified 02 May 2007)" from here: http://www.gvst.co.uk/gsnap.htm and Audacity 1.3.12 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows Extract the GSnap.dll file into the Audacity plug-ins folder, ...

Re: Pitch correction

GSnap is missing some features when used in Audacity because Audacity does not currently support MIDI or real-time processing. However, I was able to achieve basic pitch correction by following the instructions here: http://www.gvst.co.uk/gsnap_manual.htm It's a bit hit-or-miss without real-time pro...

Re: Pitch correction

GSnap works in Audacity 1.3.12

Alternatively, select the half bar that is flat and use one of the pitch change tools to push the pitch up a bit. If it's only "a bit" flat, then you probably only need to shift it by a couple of %.

Re: Reduce Export File Size?

Around 1 MB per minute of music is normal for reasonable sound quality with stereo music. CD quality WAV files use about 10 MB per minute, so you are seeing a 90% reduction in file size. If you want smaller files, the trade-off is that the sound quality is reduced. During "Export", when yo...

Re: few basic problems

(mult) operates on numbers and sounds, but your code is attempting to apply it on a "behaviour". In other words, you're making it more complicated than it really is. To amplify a sound, all you need is (mult number sound). Note that this is identical to (mult sound number). For <sounds> (b...

Re: Convert mp3 to 16bit 16000hz

it will only take a wav file in 16bit 16khz Could you be a bit more specific about the required format? For example, do you mean "16 bit 16kHz PCM WAV"? Converting an MP3 to a WAV file does not reduce the sound quality (all else being equal) - converting from WAV to MP3 does reduce the so...

Would you mind saying "why" you need to do this? There may be some alternative approach to the task, but at the moment it is not clear what you're really wanting to achieve.

Re: audacity doesn't pick up sound

I don't know what the Transport menu is .... It's the menu at the top of the main Audacity window that says "Transport". If that menu is not there, you probably do not have Audacity 1.3.x (This is the forum for Audacity 1.3.x on Mac OS X). Look in the Audacity Help menu, select "Abou...
