Re: Project Rate
I don't think Audacity supports importing .VOX files (assuming they are headerless ADPCM files). You will probably need to convert them to a supported format (such as WAV) to be able to import them.

Re: Problem while playing a track
Hi Anton, <<it's something like loop playing, getting faster and sometimes I hear crackles>> I'm still finding it difficult to picture the effect that you are describing. Perhaps it will give a clue if we look at "when" it happens. Does it always happen when you press Play, or only sometim...

Re: Modified Sine Wave plugin?
350/440. What happens when you use two tones that don't have clear, unquestioned mathematical relationships to each other? That's just asking for troubles. Throw either or both off frequency just a little and see what happens. This is a cousin to that suggestion of moving the phase around. Go furth...

Re: Why is the audio sound less on the recorded?
"Stereo Mix" is most commonly used to record audio streamed from the Internet. Depending on where it is being streamed from, it may be possible to "download" the audio rather than "record" it. There are a number of plug-ins available for Firefox that enable downloading ...

Re: Very short recording time
I find that I can record from a tape input for just a few seconds only. That sounds very specific. How are you doing that? Is it a USB cassette player? What about if you are recording from a different audio source, for example from a microphone? Do you have "Pulse Audio Mixer" installed? ...

Re: Non-clipping distortion
Overload distortion does not necessarily clip in the classic "flat top and bottom" way - depending on what part of the system is overloading you will get different types of distortion, but in any case it is not very likely that it is fixable. Can't really tell much from the spectrum plot. ...
Re: VU meter
You should be using Audacity 1.3.12 with Vista, not Audacity 1.2.x I have! :x Please don't be angry. As you posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum, I assumed that was the version you had. Perhaps you could say a bit more about your set-up, such as what sort of sound card you have, what you ...

Re: SSM2019 monolithic pre-amp chip
I wanted to get a pair of 0.1% resistors too but it was out of stock on digi-key, so I couldn't add it to this order... If you get a pack or resistors, there's a good chance that there will be a matching pair. If you have a reasonable multimeter, testing is very easy. If not, there's the old Wheats...

Re: SSM2019 monolithic pre-amp chip
Three volts is right on the edge of not having enough difference for a voltage regulator assuming that you actually need 48 V. If Bruno is building this for a specific microphone he may not need the full 48V, (and certainly will not need 200mA for a single microphone. (AKG C1000S is specified for p...
