Yeah I guess I basically will not be using Audacity to record anything, I may still use it to edit though! I rarely use Audacity for actual recording - usually I use a hard disk recorder, a Zoom H2, or at work ProTools, but I do the majority of my editing in Audacity. There's a lot of other reasons...

Too much information is better than not enough. Audacity 1.3 could be anything from 1.3.0 to 1.3.12. You should be using 1.3.12.
Did you find a "USB" option in the Record settings? Have you selected it?
