Re: Copy and pasting MP3 files will result in pitch change
Here's my steps to try and reproduce the problem. Audacity 1.3.12 Build: Sep 22 2010 Build type: Release build Edit menu > Preferences > Quality >> default sample = 44100 default sample format = 32 bit float. File menu > Import > Audio -- Import a stereo MP3 file -- file imports to Track 1 as a ster...

Re: 1.2 Crashes At Launch

Re: Levels too low, but peak volume is high
I'm basically agreeing with Koz's last post... "Dynamics compression" is partly about using the right tools, but it is definitely an "art" to get just right. Chris's dynamic compressor is very highly rated on this forum (I've recommended it many times) because it does a particula...

Re: How to email an audacity file
Hi Todd, You need to install "Lame". This is usually very straightforward in spite of the rather complicated description here: http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=install&i=lame-mp3 Give a shout if you get stuck. Once you have Lame installed, it's just "File menu > Export> " t...

Re: Edit Metadata on Audacity 1.3
I have recently downloaded Audacity 1.3 and also purchased the excellent ebook "Getting started with Audacity 1.3" from your site Really? I wasn't aware that there was a book for sale. As far as I'm aware all of the official documentation is available free on-line http://audacityteam.org/...

Re: Recording BBC Radio programmes
Would you mind confirming to me what the Audacity Preferences were please so that I can double check? Host: MME Playback: Speakers (Realtek High Definition) Recording: Stereo Mix (Realtek High Definition Audio) but if that does not work, also try each of these combinations: Host: Direct Sound Playb...

Re: data recovery
I don't know how much that would impact on performance, or whether it is even possible given that during editing, new data blocks may be written for any part of any channel of any track, but it should not be necessary. Each file should have a unique name, which should be listed in both the AUP file ...
