It sounds to me like something has gone wrong with the big 24 bit export. It should be a lot bigger than the 16 bit version.

Re: Help...error message
Unfortunately Koz and Bill are absolutely correct - that file is 146 KB of nothing. That explains the strange error message, but why or how your project has ended up like that is a mystery. Sadly this means that your project no longer exists. If you still have the _data folder and it has all of the ...

Re: No sound on playback
Go into the Windows Control Panel and set the default Playback device to match the soundcard that has your speakers/headphones attached.

Re: Tone control plug-in
Thanks for the comments Bill. I've made the "really simple" version into a "Tone and Volume" effect and posted it here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=46548 Yes it's limited, but I think the simplicity could be just the thing for some users. You're right t...

Really simple Tone and Volume Control
Here's a really simple tone and volume control. It works in a similar way to the tone/volume controls often found on portable music players. Plug-In Installation To install new plug-ins, place them in the Plug-Ins folder inside the Audacity installation folder. On Windows computers, this is usually ...

Re: Levels too low, but peak volume is high
There's a few different version of Chris's dynamics compressor floating around. Could you post a screen-shot of the version that you are using.

Re: Recording and Export at 24 bit
I can confirm that these files are 16 bit Flac and 24 bit Flac format - no problem there. But if I export the entire 7 minutes and 24 section track, the length is 72075748 bytes in 24 bit, and 73349483 bits in 16 bit. Strange. Strange indeed. One would normally expect a 16 bit Flac file to be about ...

Re: Help...error message
Same (well, similar) error message. Could you say exactly what the error message in 1.3.12 is (the exact message is probably important). I just changed the filename to management_takeover and changed both files and the folder Changing the name is a very dangerous thing to do. The .AUP file contains...

Re: Tone control plug-in
Option 4 Clipping Protection (normalize to 0 dB if too loud): Yes, let's go with that. I've amended the Technical Details and the 'View Help' text to match this wording. Reluctantly, I think I prefer the info line warning Yes, I think that's the best option. Rather than referring the user to the 'Vi...

Do you also have Audacity 1.2 installed?
