Re: Loose my temp files
It may be too late. It is quite common for computers to automatically delete temp files on reboot. Recovering data after a crash can be quite tricky, and not necessarily possible even if you have the temp files, so the chance of recovery now is even less. You could try to recover the lost files with...

Re: Music sounds like in a box
The format of an audio CD is similar to (but not quite the same) the format of WAV files. Some CD burning software can automatically convert MP3 files or other audio file formats to the right format for a CD, but ALL CD burning software can use "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM" format (w...

Re: how to isolate instrument from song?
@saveyourmix, Thanks for the clarification. I did find your samples to be both interesting and impressive. In fact we originally left your first links in place, but after the links were repeated in your next two posts it tipped over the line. I'm sure that you understand that as this is a very activ...

Re: 1.2.6 noise removal superior to 1.3.6 ??
Did you try and see if your Audacity recognizes the plugin? With Audacity 1.3.12 beta, I have the effect listed as "Broadcast Limiter II" in the "Effect" menu it is listed "below the line". Note that the effects below the line are listed alphabetically and the name of ...

Re: remove coughs
Probably the easiest type of effects to develop are "Nyquist plug-ins". "Nyquist" is a programming language based on XLisp (a dialect of Lisp). Nyquist scripts are written in plain text and do not require compiling. Some useful links for Nyquist programming: http://audacityteam.o...

Re: Notch Filter
The description looks accurate to me. The only part that I would query is regarding hum removal. In many cases better results can be achieved by notching out a few of the strongest harmonics before using Noise Removal. For example, if "Plot Spectrum" shows strong peaks at 60, 180 and 300 H...

Precisely the point I was making regarding "don't let the input get too hot" http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 53#p113076billw58 wrote:my guess is that it would not help if the input to the UCA-202 is being overloaded.

Re: Mac Files to Windows
That's scary. Mac FireFox can't see TIFFs? Safari can see them. Koz A bit off-topic, but not scary. Tiff images are rarely used on web pages and there are much better image formats for the web (such as PNG). It would be surprising if Safari didn't support viewing TIFF images as the format appears t...
