Re: Auto Synchronize two sine waves
I've scoured the internets looking for software that could do this, phase lock 2 tones, and no luck, but I have seen patents that seem to describe this exact idea. I'm pretty sure that it would be possible to create a Nyquist plug-in that could do this but it would be rather complicated to do so - ...

Re: The Vocal Remover.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I must respectfully disagree No problem, people often do disagree until they've exhausted all options. 1 Import your stereo song. 2 Merge them (Tracks/Stereo Track to Mono). Let's call the resulting track "a". 3 Import it again (File/Import/Audio... a...

Re: Multitrack recording - direct to Audacity or external de
Would it be possible to use JACK to make a virtual "sound card" with multiple channels which actually takes inputs from multiple real sound cards and controls them under one driver for Audacity? I presume that you are talking Linux? Yes that is possible, but unless all physical recording ...

Re: No stereo with usb converter?
Do I need stereo mix to make this work under my recording options? No, you need to set Audacity to use the USB recording input (Edit menu > Preferences > Devices) I figure this may have something to do with Vista Yes it is. Vista will usually set USB devices to mono. You need to go into the Windows...

Re: Can not open mp3 library
here for instructions for how to install Lame: http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=install&i=lame-mp3 when I did save them as wav files I opened one to play and both songs that I had recorded played at the same time over each other. Audacity is a multi-track audio editor. This means that you can ...

Re: Constant tone yield non-uniform recording
The "Conferencing" effects that you need to turn off are probably called "Noise Reduction" or "Automatic Gain" or "AGC" or "Echo Cancellation". Finding those settings can be tricky, but they are probably tucked away somewhere in the sound card / micr...

I have an idea of why it may be.ljbates wrote:If I change the sample rate to 96000kb to record

but would be interested if someone can try and explain.
Did you say what your operating system is?
What sample rate did you originally have Audacity set at?

Re: Auto Synchronize two sine waves
It should be possible to do such a thing, but may be a bit more complicated than it first appears. For example, if you look at this waveform: firsttrack000.png This is a sine wave with a frequency that is approximately 1/10th of the sample rate. Count the number of samples in the positive 1/2 wave b...

Re: Warping audio in Audacity
the only promising one is the Turntable Warp. I haven't downloaded it yet.....not sure if that's the effect I want. It depends on what sort of "warp" you mean. I'd recommend updating to Audacity 1.3.12, then try the "Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift" in the Effect menu and see if ...
