Re: error unable to open target file
And according to http://www.lettercount.com/, this particular file path (as it appears above) is 215 Spaces also count as characters. I think that the () may also count but I'm not sure about that. The apostrophe (') is a dodgy character to use and although it should be supported it would be better...

Re: Stereo Track is Silent???
I posted the same question earlier, yet the responses i got weren't really what i was looking for. Did anyone suggest upgrading to Audacity 1.3.12? I'd highly recommend that you do as a number of issues are now starting to appear with the old 1.2 version on newer machines and they are not getting f...

Re: Silence after saving
Why is that? Did you delete it?amcarr wrote: I only have the .aup file and no data file.
The _data folder is an essential part of the Audacity project.
I would recommend upgrading to Audacity 1.3.12 in case it is some strange bug in the old 1.2 version that is causing the problem.

There is an option at the bottom of the Transport menu (in Audacity 1.3.12) to enable "software playthrough" - that should be selected.
There is a similar option in Audacity 1.2 but it is buried somewhere in the Preferences.

Re: 'Motorized volume sliders' Mixing table
This idea has been discussed previously and is mentioned on the "Feature Requests" page of the Audacity wiki http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Feature_Requests#Highest-rated Allow real-time effects (67 votes) ..., include something similar to the envelope tool to adjust the effe...

Re: why won't audacity record in on my PC but will on my lap
The recommended version of Audacity is now Audacity 1.3.12. I would highly recommend upgrading.
In Audacity 1.3.12, go to "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices" and set the USB device as the Recording device. Set the Playback device to whichever device you are using for playback.

Re: imported raw file hissy
First thing to try is Audacity 1.3.12.
If you are still unable to import correctly, is there a reasonably small file that you could make available for testing?

Re: How can I record my piano?
Casio keyboard to my computer using a USB cord Is that an "audio" USB connection or a "MIDI" USB connection? In most cases it is a MIDI connection, but Audacity is an audio recording program and not a MIDI recording program (MIDI is NOT audio). To record MIDI you need to use a &...

Re: can not import audio files
I've got the debug version to run, but now I'm unable to get FFmpeg to be recognised at all.
Starting with a clean SVN download, what patches/code modifications are advised and which version of FFmpeg would it be best for me to test?

The first thing you should try is upgrading to Audacity 1.3.12
The FLAC format was modified a couple of years ago and the old 1.2.6 version does not have the modified FLAC support.
