Re: Device not found?
Did you check out the link in the previous post? Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound or if you're using "Classic View" there's a direct link to "Sound" in the Control Panel, then click on the "Recording" tab. You should see something like this: http://wik...

Re: Error when attempting Append Record
Audacity has either lost the recording device, or the input stream from the recording device.
What is the recording device?
What is the input stream? (what are you trying to record?)

Re: Trying 2open mp4, error none of them understood this ffo
I always left an Audacity window open (since I first installed it) That's why Audacity "forgot". Audacity saves the Preferences when the session is closed. If Audacity has not been closed since you first set up FFmpeg, then the setting of where FFmpeg is located would never have been saved.

Re: extract common part of two audios
First step: create acapella of "DJ Stolen" as clean as possible from several samples I see, but that's not what you said. The problem with using fancy tools like "Noise Removal" is that it will change the vocal wave - going back to my first post - for cancellation to work the wa...

If you find a reproducible way to create the crash I'm sure the developers would be very interested.

Re: extract common part of two audios
So unfortunately I can't try to invert and substract the tags from the full song like I did with the first samples. You've just changed the rules of the game. To quote your second post " I don't want to remove them. On the contrary I would like to keep only them... and get rid of the backgroun...

By the time it's back in a mix with something else you'll hardly notice the old backing:

Re: Click/Breathing/Noise not sure what to call it removal h
I want the Pop Gate to be able to reduce to zero. Then you wouldn't have had to reduce the really bad pops by hand. They would just all go away -- or to some much lower value, and not limited by the volume of the show That's true, but in this case it does not improve the sound much. Reducing the po...

Re: Click/Breathing/Noise not sure what to call it removal h
Short samples (up to about 5 seconds) can be uploaded to the forum in WAV or FLAC format. These formats do not cause the "damage" that occurs with MP3 encoding. (we only need a few seconds of audio to asses the problem). The sample I posted was done in the following way: Audacity 1.3.12 ht...
