I've never had much success with Audacity 1.2.x on Linux - I managed to get it to run (as an experiment) but it was horribly unstable. The main problem was that it required so many obsolete libraries.

If that's all that is listed, then Windows is not recognising your Mbox.
If Windows does not recognise the Mbox, then it is not available for Audacity to use.
Are you sure that your Mbox is correctly installed?

Check which version of Audacity you are using (Help menu > About Audacity)
This sounds very much like a bug from Audacity a couple of versions ago (I think it was 1.3.10).
The current version is 1.3.12
