Re: Audiacity 1.2.6 error while recording ... cant open temp
USB microphone? I thought you were using a turntable, or does Windows call the turntable a "USB microphone"?

Re: Audacity Adds Hiss to exported WAV
The best solution is to keep everything in 32-bit float format until you have finished, then make the final export as 16 bit (for compatibility). To Export form Audacity in 32-bit float, File menu > Export > select "Other uncompressed files" as the file format then click on the "Optio...

Re: Saving MP3 mod's
The first thing I'd like to suggest is upgrading to Audacity 1.3.12 (The 1.2.x series is now very old and no longer maintained, so there are bugs appearing in it when used on modern computers that are not going to be fixed) However, let's see if we can shed some light on this issue first (hopefully ...

Re: Spoken movie subtitles?
I'll move this topic into the "Adding Features to Audacity", as that seems to be about the best fit. Nyquist is not particularly good for manipulating text or files. It is very good at manipulating audio. Nyquist does not have direct access to tracks in Audacity. In most Nyquist plug-ins, ...

Re: E-MU PCI No input to Audacity
The default drivers for the EMU 0404 are ASIO drivers, but due to licensing restrictions Audacity cannot be shipped with ASIO support, so it requires Windows drivers (WDM). Ensure that you have the Windows drivers installed for the sound card as well as the ASIO drivers. Is the EMU sound card listed...

Re: No devices found
You would probably get better sound quality if you digitally rip the audio from the DVD rather than recording it. Re. getting Audacity to work, which version of Windows are you using? If you're using Vista or Windows 7, see here for how to enable recording/playback devices. http://wiki.audacityteam....

Re: MIDI files, Audacity and Timidity
I read that Audacity page about MIDI files ( http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Midi ) and it says that I can cut and paste pieces of MIDI files apart and edit them .... so in reality, Audacity opens a MIDI file to show the little MIDI piano, the little numbers 1-16 colored tabs and the long series ...
