Re: Inter-retrieval Interval

Sound Finder. (near bottom of this page: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Analyze_Menu ) If you need to detect silences shorter than 0.1 seconds you can type values into the appropriate box (rather than using the slider) down as low as 0.01 seconds. Edit Labels (near bottom of this page: http://ma...

Re: How to mix vocals CD quality (new amateur trying to reco

The mixing is what one would expect for the genre. The sound quality's not great, but that's the encoding for YouTube. The first one gets horribly distorted in the loud section but I doubt that was the case on the original recording.

Re: Peak Limiter / Expander

This effect looked promising. The sound quality of the limiter is noticeably (and measurably) better than the "Broadcast Limiter II" as it does not suffer from aliasing distortion. So here's a new version that supports stereo tracks. In this version, the expander is complimentary to the co...

Re: Remove Limiting

There's a slightly more sophisticated version (as a plug-in) here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=52520&p=127163#p127163 If there is a demand (and if I get time) I may develop this further to support stereo tracks and see if I can make the compression and expansion comple...

Re: Need to change a mono project into stereo mp3

Open the project. Left down arrow menus > Split Stereo track. Select the track with the music on it and Make Mono. [X] Delete the unused second track. That should be: Open the Project. Click on the Track name. Select " Split Stereo to Mono " Delete the silent track (Click the [X] in the t...

Re: playback "muffled/out of phase sound

The Audacity settings in the Transport menu appear to be correct. Try going to Audacity "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices". In the Recording section, is there an option for "Microphone"? If there is, try that. If not, what options are available? It would help if you had Creative...

Re: only one second of song comes up

Is the problem with one specific WAV file or do you have the same problem with all WAV files that are more than a few seconds long?
Have you tried importing MP3 files? Do they have the same problem?
