Re: Killerringer

Put the dll file into the Audacity plug-ins folder and set Audacity to rescan VST effects.

See the Audacity 1.3.x section of this article for more details: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/VST_Plug-ins

Re: Compile error FFmpeg.cpp

Is there any specific reason why these fixes are not currently in the svn repository? Because different fixes are required for different versions of FFmpeg. The current code works for the majority of users, but current fixes for the remaining minority of uses can break support for the majority. The...

Re: Weird Sound Output

Do you have an option for MME in the "HOST" option box?
If you do, try that.
The Recording and Playback options should switch automatically to "Microsoft Sound Mapper"

I presume that other applications (such as Windows Media Player) are playing files correctly?

Re: Huge gaps in recording - corrupted file?

For the type of work that you are doing it will do no harm to have that option enabled (in fact most of the forum regulars think that it should be enabled by default). Due to the confusion at the beginning of this topic it occurred to me that a possible explanation for the problem (and the only expl...

Re: Re-recording at Higher Volume

Re: Add a built in real time clock

What's an EVP? I'm guessing "Electronic Voice Phenomenon" but I really wish people didn't use abvs. How long are your recordings? That's the crucial question. With standard consumer grade sound card the accuracy of the recording speed should be within a couple of seconds second per hour, ...

Re: Audacity doesn't see my mic

The problem with Audacity 1.3.12 is still on the same Windows XP computer as you have been using (and still can use) with Audacity 1.2.6? Audacity "sees" my mic just fine - it shows in the Mixer panel, but there's no signal coming through anywhere. And there's the problem of no cursor move...

Re: Another failed vocal removal

The show has to not be a highly compressed download -- no MP3s. The vocal has to be panned in the middle, but the instruments have to not be -- it has to be a wide stereo show. It doesn't work at all on a mono show. That's also why on some songs, the bass and drums go, too. Everything in the middle...
