You've missed out one crucial point.

Re: how to create static build with audacity 1.2.6?
I would not recommend Audacity 1.2.6 for running on Linux. I don't think it ever worked very well, and I've had little success with it. If you really need to run Audacity 1.2.6 on Linux it would probably work much better (and more easily) to run the Windows build in WINE. Otherwise I'd highly recomm...

Re: Help recording guitar with Audacity!
All of the signals in your equipment chain are somewhere around "Line" level. The Microphone input on your computer will be for "Microphone Level" signals (about 1000 x smaller than Line level), so attempting to "DI" (plug Directly In) your guitar equipment will massive...

Re: After all of this - no sound output
Please read the replies to your posts. From the other thread: challey, reinstalling Audacity is very unlikely to fix anything. From this thread: How are your speakers/headphones connected to the computer? If you play the recording in another program (example Media Player) does it play? Does Media Pl...

Re: Error not well formed (invalid token) line 7

The first step would be to give precise steps to reproduce the problem. If we...

Re: Audacity does not start
If possible, uninstall or remove all existing instances of LAME from your computer. If you have other programs that are using their own version of lame.dll, temporarily rename the .dll file (for example, add ".bak" to the file name - you can change this back later, so make a note of what y...

Re: XP reboots when starting Audacity
I've not come across this problem, but you have the same problem with two machines, with different operating systems and different versions of Audacity. That is very odd. Are there any common factors to both machines that other users may not have? For example, do you have any USB audio devices conne...
