Re: Audacity doesn't see my mic

If Sound Recorder works for both recording and playback, then Audacity 1.3.12 should work if you set: Edit menu > Preferences > Devices Host: MME Playback: Microsoft Sound Mapper Recording: Microsoft Sound Mapper Channels: 2 (stereo) and Edit menu > Preferences > Quality Default Sample Rate: 44100 Hz

Check that the playback volume is turned up for Audacity in the system volume control (near the time/date in the bottom right corner of the Desktop).

What happened to my posting earlier today asking for more help re moving the cursor line and waht to do about the red flags? J Bruce Sorry, I've checked the Admin log and there appears to be no sign of such a post being made. If you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12 there are multiple ways of moving the p...

Re: XP reboots when starting Audacity

I'm running out of ideas. I've used Audacity on Windows XP for years on multiple machines and never had this problem. The only other thing that I can think of is that perhaps there is a problem with your sound card drivers that is upsetting Audacity, though I don't know why that should cause your co...
