Re: Batch convert AUP files

The short answer is that you can't. Normally one would export the project as an audio file when the project was completed. An alternative answer - I've never used the program, but you may get some mileage from ironahk http://www.ironahk.net/ also http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&...

Re: Draft: HOWTO convert audio file formats

I don't know what's available in the fedora repository, but ABCDE is a popular, no-nonsense, fast command-line ripper. Sound Juicer is an option if you prefer GUI programs. Sound Converter is an easy to use GUI batch format converter. I would recommend using VBR encoding - somewhere around 192kbps s...

Annoying when they do that isn't it.

My guess is that he enabled playback of the microphone in the RealTek control panel (icon near the time/date in the lower right corner of the Desktop).

Re: There must be an easier way

The good news is that you've already done the hard bit without even realising it :) You have Audacity installed and you are able to record and play back - that's the hard bit. Next we need to sort out a bit of terminology: Audacity does not save audio files. Audacity saves "Audacity Projects&qu...

Re: Opening/importing files - Network install

Audacity is not really designed for running over a network. If you have had an older version running over the network with few problems then you've been extremely lucky - there's a lot of things that can go wrong. Re: Beta Version not working on Windows 7

Ensure that you do not have Skype running - not even in the background. Right-click over the speaker icon in the System Tray > Recording Devices and you should see something similar to this: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/w/images/c/c8/Vistarec.png Check that the microphone is visible, enabled and has...

Re: stereo crossfeed

Are you sure you are using Audacity 1.2 (you've posted in the Audacity 1.2 part of the forum, but Audacity 1.2 does not support batch processing). Audacity 1.3.12 has limited support for batch processing, but unfortunately it is not sufficiently extensive to do what you want as a batch process. You ...

What operating system are you using and which version of Audacity? (look in "Help menu > About Audacity" for the full version number)

Re: Random skipping when recording

If you open Audacity and go to "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices" there are 2 options for "Host". Try the other option.
