Re: Flipping stereo channels?
"Right Channel" and "Left Channel" in the drop-down menu apply only to mono tracks. They allocate the destination of the data for that mono track. The (playback) output from Audacity is a "stereo bus" - that is, two channels of audio. This is regardless of what tracks e...

Re: granularity of spectrum analyzer
If you use the "Change Speed" effect with a setting of 100%, then all frequencies will be doubled. Apply it again and the frequencies will be doubled again. Repeat as necessary. Plot the spectrum, then divide all frequencies according to how many times faster it now is. For example, if it ...

Re: Removing Vocals on Songs
In Audacity 1.3.12 you can limit the frequency range that Vocal Remover acts on. Vocals tend to be most prominent in approximately the 200 Hz to 5000 Hz range. Vocals and saxophone largely cover a similar frequency range, so you're unlikely to be able to remove one without also removing the other.

Re: 1.2.5 not starting on Leopard, complains on wrong arch
It's not going to be fixed in Audacity 1.2 as all work on that branch ceased years ago.
The problem should be fixed in Audacity 1.3.12 http://audacityteam.org/download/

I've e-mailed CNet about Freecorder 4 Toolbar. It'll be interesting if anything comes back.

Re: Can't get Audacity to fully open in Win 7
I am running it in Windows 98 Service Pack 3 compatibility mode. You've taken compatibility mode back too far. You should first try running Audacity without compatibility mode but just as a 32-bit application. If you get the error "Runtime Error Program:(location) R6034" change compatibil...

A really old thread here, but I've just run up against this issue. The solution for me was to configure with the option

Re: Registry edit in Windows 7 to get "Stereo Mix"?
I tried "Freecoder 4 Toobar" and I was most unimpressed that it forced the installation of a load of unwanted other software even when deselected, and then was very difficult to uninstall. In my opinion "Freecoder 4 Toobar" is one to avoid. Regarding Total Recorder Standard Editi...

Re: Warning Project Check
The .AUP file and the _data folder need to be in the same folder as each other. If there are "dependencies" in the project, then both the .AUP file and the _data folder need to be in exactly the same folder as when the project was created, and all dependent files must still be in the exact...
