Re: Is the lame website working???
It's been a bit erratic over the last couple of days, but it's working now. The site administrator is aware of the problem and is working to resolve the issues.

Re: moving files with a flash drive...
Yes it's possible, but I would highly recommend that you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12 first. The recommended version of Audacity for Vista and Win 7 is Audacity 1.3.12 - there are a lot of strange problems that can occur if you try to use Audacity 1.2. It is advisable to use Audacity 1.3.12 on both ma...

Re: Auto file-creation while recording from tape
I've not found tape noise to be a problem for detecting "silences", it's just necessary to set the "silence threshold" a bit higher. Noise between tracks on vinyl can be a problem for silence detection as clicks, pops and crackles can have relatively high amplitude, so it is best...

Re: Cd won't play on old cd player
One more. It's a little magic how fast the disk is made. If you start creating beer mats instead of music, try to slow down the burn rate. I have one burner that does not work reliably at "Maximum Speed" (X32 or higher) but produces perfect disks at X16. I have a really old HP burner that...

Re: Combine mp2 and mp3: output format and preferences?
To set the sample rate for the "Project", and hence the sample rate that will be used for the finished audio file when you Export, set the "Project Rate" in the bottom left corner of the main Audacity window. Note that by default the project rate will be whatever is set in "...

Re: 1.2.6 recording delay
Piano keys?
What exactly are you recording and how are you recording it? I presume that you're not recording a real piano because you would hear that acoustically.

Re: Nectar VST Plug-in
To rescan for VST plug-ins, go to "Edit menu > Preferences > Effects" and select the option to rescan VST effects on next boot. The next time you start Audacity it will rescan for VST effects.

Re: Audacity will no longer open....
Are you using a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7?
Have you tried running Audacity in compatibility mode (Vista SP2 or XP SP3)
Do you have any VST effects installed on your computer? (may be included in other audio software).

Re: Cant record from CD
I can record from Line-in OK but not from CD playing in Windows media player even though all settings seem OK - Am I missing something Some sound cards, particularly older ones, have an analogue input for connecting an analogue output from the CD drive. These are rarely used on modern computers. CD...
