As has been said, Audacity can only record from one "device" at a time, however it should be able to handle as many audio channels as that device has available.

1) Upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12.
2) Open Audacity and import both files (into the same project).
3) No need to put the clips into the same track - Audacity is a multi-track editor, designed to work with multiple tracks at the same time.

Audacity can only record from one device at a time. If you have multiple instances of Audacity open only one of them can record at one time.
