Re: Audacity 1.2.6 - No Input Devices
Shouldn't be too long. Don't hold your breath - the developers are perfectionists and we've been waiting years for the release of Audacity 2.0 meanwhile, Audacity 1.2.6 was abandoned years ago - it's ancient and has been unmaintained for years. Audacity 1.3.12 is a late beta release and works very ...

Re: ADD 2 MICROPHONES INPUT TO SOFTWARE
Audacity can only record from ONE device at a time. However, what you can do with Audacity is to record one part (say, guitar), then record another part (say, vocals) onto a new track while listening to the part(s) that are already recorded. This is called "Multi-track" recording (as oppos...

Re: remembering the Import directory
Good news Edgar.
The old step 1 was the problem.
Applying the NEW step 1 with steps 2 and 3 WORKS
I think Bill (billw58) and Bruno (bgravato) use Macs, but I don't know if either of them build on Macs. You could PM them and ask.

Re: Playing MP3 files from the Internet
Does the suggested fix work?
If you've not got a tag editor or you're unsure how to do it I can edit it and upload it somewhere for you.
(I've not got Safari installed so I can't test it myself)

Re: Lost keyboard focus after import (Ubuntu) [patch]
Thanks autark. I've applied the patch and it's working fine. The bug does not appear to be listed on Bugzilla, so I'll add it along with your patch. I'll also bring it to the attention of the developers as it looks like an issue that can be cleared very quickly. If you think that you might be fixing...

Re: remembering the Import directory
I've got a problem with this on Linux. I think I applied the changes correctly, then built against SVN HEAD 21Feb2011 It seems to build OK, but as soon as I click on the File menu, Audacity crashes with a segmentation fault. I like the idea a lot and would find it very useful. [Update: I've backed o...

Re: Playing MP3 files from the Internet
P.S. Aha, so it IS a Safari problem. There's a whole discussion forum devoted to this specific problem So there is, and I've got an idea what the problem might be. Do you have a "Tag Editor" program for editing the id3 tags (metadata) in MP3 files? (You can do it in Audacity, but Audacity...

Re: 2 track recording problems
The problem looks like it's related to the sound card or the sound card drivers rather than Audacity itself so I'm scratching my head about what we can do about the problem. Audacity 1.3.12 has a generally more robust way of interfacing with the sound card drivers, so there's a chance that upgrading...
