Re: Lost keyboard focus after import (Ubuntu) [patch]

More detail to my previous post: 1) I've noticed something weird that confused and confounded me last night. The original bug seemed to have disappeared from my unpatched Audacity 1.3.12 version. It seems that the bug does not occur when importing MP3 files that are longer than 5 minutes duration :?...

Re: Tracks out of synch

I prefer the term "upgrade" - it makes me feel better about spending money ;) If you are currently using a cheap, or on-board sound card, then it is very likely that this is the problem. If you're already using a high quality sound card that is designed for media work, then this is less li...

Re: my theme is unusable (too dark).

KXStudio 10.4.3. That's an Ubuntu derivative isn't it? Unfortunately there are some problems with new Ubuntu dark themes changing the colours in Audacity and making parts of the interface unreadable. Most of these issues have now been resolved in Audacity 1.3.13 which you can obtain here: https://l...

Re: my theme is unusable (too dark).

There isn't a Theme item in preferences.
Do you really have Audacity 1.2? (you've posted in the Audacity 1.2 part of the forum)
Which Linux distribution do you have?

Re: Tracks out of synch

Gradual drifting out of synch usually indicates that the sound cards clock signal is inaccurate (not stable).
This would affect all audio applications, though only noticeable with multiple tracks.

Re: rewind and re-record

That's right - then I've got the stress-free time to make a good job of the splicing together, with no clicks and just the right amount of pause between words. Even if you did go back and record over the blooper as you went along, some of the joins are going to be a bit messy, so for a good job you'...

Re: rewind and re-record

Usually I prefer to just pause the recording ("P" key), drop in a marker (Ctrl+M then Enter) and un-pause to continue recording ("P" key). This way there is minimal disruption to my "flow". When the recording is finished I can go back to where the markers are and edit o...
