Re: Cant remove vocals
Not all tracks can have their vocals removed. It rarely works well with MP3 files and never works with mono recordings.

Check to see if your sound card drivers have been automatically updated recently - if they have, then you could try rolling them back to the previous drivers. Also, some questions... Have you ever had Audacity 1.2.x installed on that computer? Did you need to do anything to get Audacity working init...

Re: labels of a different flavor?
<<Any ideas?>> Yes, you need Audacity 1.3.13, but it's not been released yet. Audacity 1.3.13 has a "Sync-lock" feature that locks the label track to all audio tracks above it up to the next label track (if there is one). For example, with Sync-lock enabled and the following tracks: Audio ...

Re: Regular 'bleep'
USB audio devices do not normally need any special drivers. They are usually "plug and play" (one of the rare things that really is). Some USB audio devices have additional drivers to provide enhanced functionality or ASIO support, but basic audio support (which is all you really need) sho...

Re: Help needed recording Vinyl, results sound harsh
From my experience there is no difference in speed or sound quality whichever Flac converter you use. The only real difference is the graphical interface, underneath which they all use the same encoder (though some may use older or newer versions by a point or two).

he stuff I work with is really either interviews which are recorded on tape (I know!), or discs containing audio What sort of "discs"? If they are audio CDs it is better quality, quicker and easier to digitally rip them to WAV format rather than record them. Some good free CD rippers for ...

Re: Submit your EQ Curves
Can you make a list here of what those updates should be? The main one is to use standard file separators - "/" or "" according to whichever is used by the operating system. (only possible in recent versions of 1.3.13) This not only makes it easier for users, but simplifies the ...

Open up the Windows "Task Manager" and have a look to see what applications and processes are running. By shutting down non-essential applications and processes one at a time you should be able to determine which one is the culprit. I'm guessing that you have a program installed that wants...
