Re: Win 7 64 Bit
To clarify regarding Skype. It is possible to run Audacity and Skype at the same time, but very many users have reported problems when trying to do so. Skype can, and sometimes does change the sound system configuration in unexpected ways, which can leave users scratching their heads. The point of d...

That was for Audacity 1.3.x and this is the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum.bgravato wrote:From this thread:

Re: Latency between tracks
the new problem is massive latency between tracks You'll need to be more specific about that. We have a lot of people ask about "latency" problems, but frequently they mean something different to we would think of as "latency". Probably best if we approach this as ... tell me ex...

Re: Peak amplication / EQ distortion question
Equalisation on audio players is generally applied after the digital recording has been converted to an analogue signal, so it is not subject to the 0 dB brick wall that occurs with (integer) digital audio. Distortion/clipping will still occur in the analogue domain if the signal is too high, but it...

Re: Can't hear previous tracks while recording new ones
I'm not sure exactly what problem you are trying to solve. It sounds like the original problem was solved, so what exactly is the issue now?kyk1987 wrote: Would a dedicated soundcard likely improve things?

Re: Win 7 64 Bit
Could have updated in the few seconds while I was recording and then stopped and started. This would have been all of 10 Seconds. Sp small window. Thanks for the clarification - I'm getting a clearer picture now :) In these circumstances it seems unlikely that it is a driver issue, so probably not ...

Re: cassettes play fine but record poorly
I use Audacity 1.2.6 on 64 bit Windows 7 pro. Wrong version. See here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ On playback sounds ok.. my problem is that the programs takes these vacations...sometimes it works and sometime not... You mean that record and playback fine on one day, but another day it sound...

Re: labels of a different flavor?
Hmm, yes, you could be right - but that's more of a problem because Audacity does not have that, and as far as I'm aware there's no simple way to emulate the behaviour.
Hopefully BearDrummer can clarify what he is wanting to do - there may be a workaround using cut and paste.

Re: Tracks out of synch
Thanks for your suggestion Dan, but latency problems result in tracks being a consistent amount out of sync, whereas the issue here is one of tracks gradually drifting out of sync. Details about latency issues are described in the manual here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Latency_Test

Re: Multi-channel Recording in Audacity
Unfortunately it looks like Mackie are using multiple stereo audio drivers rather than a single multi-channel driver. Audacity can only record from one "device" at a time, but due to there being multiple stereo drivers, as far as Audacity is concerned you have multiple 2 channel stereo dev...
