Re: Why Not Recording On A Track I Added?
Some multi-track audio programs require that you create a new track before recording. Audacity doesn't. If for some reason you need Audacity to record on a track that has already been created you can use "Append Record". http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Play ... _Recording

Re: Dynamically change pitch
Assuming that you have Audacity 1.3.12 (if not, you should update/upgrade http://audacityteam.org/download/ ) To loop a section of the file, the first step is to find a suitable section. Ideally you will be looking for a part where the sound is relatively constant for as long as possible. The beginn...

Re: heavy clipping distortion on 24-bit export
the only thing I miss in the effects menu is some ordering,... there was once a version with some ordering but this was skipped later. The plan is that this will return at some point in the future, though it will almost certainly need to wait 'till after the release of Audacity 2.0. The initial att...

Re: Compare 2 files to discover audio delay
Sometimes Steve can write software to do a simple job, but this is not a simple job. It is possible that there may be a way to do this, however there is a "but" (and as they said in "Spinal Tap" , it's a big "but"...) apart from the delay, are the two files identical ?...

Re: Peak amplication / EQ distortion question
You say most players add equalization after D/A conversion, yet somebody else I've spoken with has said the opposite, and this leaves me confused. Hardware DAP's ( :D ) should apply EQ after digital to analogue conversion. It is extremely common (the norm) for digital audio to have a peak level tha...

Re: mp3 export

Just read the Bugzilla report - I take it that this latest patch (on the forum) is THE patch to test?Edgar wrote:Here is a patch:

Confirmed - another bug in 1.2.6 and another reason to update to 1.3.

Re: Compare 2 files to discover audio delay
I don't quite "get" the question.
You mean that the sound on one of the video files is out of sync with the picture?
Audacity is audio only, so when you rip the audio out from the video, what is your sync reference?
