Most Podcasts are in MP3 format, but it's always worth keeping an original WAV format export because that can be easily converted to any other format.

Unfortunately Nyquist does not have access to the envelope data (though it's already included on the "Nyquist wish list")

If you're using Audacity 1.3.12 I think the compressor settings should be remembered from one usage to the next, even after restarting Audacity.

Could you upload to somewhere on the Internet, a short (only needs to be a few seconds) test file from your Skype recording program, then post a link in your forum reply.
