Re: I want to adj. EQ while listening to play back?

I would like to be able to listen to the play back, and adjust the EQ live, or on the fly. Is this possible? So would I, but no it's not possible. However you can use "Preview" on the Equalizer effect. To increase the length of the preview to a more useful duration, go to: "Edit menu...

Re: Undo/Redo shows list of commands

I like the idea of having it available in the Edit menu and would leave it in the View menu as well I can see the argument for having the Undo History in the Edit menu, and many programs do that, though some other programs use the View menu. I don't like the idea of duplicate menu items (adds clutt...

Re: No data retrieved

Initially, I got an error message that the data could not be saved because my hard drive was full Could the error message have been: Could not save project. Perhaps /boot/test is not writable or the disk is full. Where were you trying to save to? Do you have write permissions for that location? Nor...

Re: [live sound] putting Audacity between the mics and mixer

My boss built his own "transformer isolated splitters" (that is what you need to Google) many years ago and we still use them for on-stage monitor mixing. An easy (and much cheaper) method is to use an Op-amp buffer circuit (Op-amp follower). Using an Op-amp follower circuit with an input...

Re: LAME vbr mp3 export wasting space

Now, we can attempt to make our parameters closer to what Lame sets. I'm not sure we'd be able to achieve exactness though without pretty much copying the lame command line frontend. We should be able to get closer though. As the Lame command line front end appears to be better optimised, wouldn't ...

That is a good workaround (and Audacity remembers to settings), but it would be better if it were not necessary to use a workaround. Does anyone know why the problem is occurring?

Re: LADSPA plug-ins ????

i can only import "data" to Audacity, i can't do any effects, everything in the drop down menu is greyed out.... Audacity must be in "Stop" mode (not "Play", "Record" or "Pause") to use effects. The same is true of most of the menu items. I would hi...

Re: LAME vbr mp3 export wasting space

I understand -b sets a minimum, but I read you to say that -b 32 explicitly makes the file size smaller. The "-b 32" argument is not necessary to remove the padding. I only put in the -b 32 so that we were not packing it tighter than a standard "Lame preset Medium" should pack i...
