The file "LADSPA_plugins-win-0.4.15.exe" is not a plug-in, it's an installation package that installs a large set of LADSPA plug-ins. Move the file out of your plug-ins folder and put it somewhere convenient (for example in "My Documents"), then double click on the file to run it...

Unfortunately I can't see an on-line manual for either of those mixers.

Your recording level is set way too high. Open your sound card recording settings and turn down the recording level. During recording, you should see the waveform appear in the Audacity track. Adjust the recording level so that the waveform is about half the height of the track. After it has recorde...

Could you upload a short sample recording somewhere on the Internet, preferably in WAV format, then post a link on the forum. We may be able to identify the problem if we can hear it.
