Have a look in the Windows Device Manager and check that the ION USB device is actually installed.

Re: audacity effects
I believe Steve also uses an uca202 on ubuntu, Yes I do, and it works very well. if anyone is using wine audacity please rate the quality. I have the Windows version of Audacity 1.2.6 installed and running in Wine (for testing purposes). I don't think that the 1.2.6 version has ever run very well o...

Re: FAST TRACK UNABLE TO RECORD GUITAR CORRECTLY
my Fast Track only has one 1/4 input. the input on the right is for headphones only.... Ah, it's not the "Pro" version. In that case, set Audacity to record in Stereo, then when you have recorded the track click on the track name and from the drop down menu select "Split to Mono"...

Re: need help bad recording with audacity 1.3.12 beta.
I think you may just need to spend a bit of time looking through the FL Studio manual.
There's also lots of FL tutorials on YouTube.

Re: Error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 76
Unfortunately a large part of the file from Line 75 is corrupt.
Did Audacity crash? If so, what were you doing at the time? If not, do you have any ideas of how the file may have been corrupted? Are there any other problems that you know of with your computer?

Re: Version 1.2.6
Check the USB cable is securely connected, then restart your computer. If the problem persists, what sort of USB device are you recording from and which version of Windows?

Re: Exporting Data to a Text File
The easiest way that I can think of would be to make multiple copies of the recording and apply a narrow band-pass filter to each copy. I'm not sure if there's ready made plug-in for band pass filtering, but if not you can create the same effect by applying a high-pass filter at the lower cut-off fr...

Re: Problem with F1
It should work unless you have some other program running that sets the F1 key globally. If that is the case, try changing the key binding to something different (such as Ctrl+F1), or close the program that is interfering. Just to be clear, the F1 key by itself does not select any of the audio, it j...

Re: dB definition
I can't find it documented anywhere for Audacity 1.2, but as far as I can tell, the -10 dB level in Plot Spectrum is set to white noise with a linear amplitude +/- 1. I don't know if there is any rationale for this other than it gives a maximum level of around 0 dB for most real world recordings. Th...
