Re: Vox synth pads
Many of the old analogue style string pad sounds were created using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). The easiest way to generate PWM sounds in Audacity is to use "Nyquist" code. See here about "Nyquist" programming in Audacity: http://audacityteam.org/help/nyquist Try selecting part...

You mean for people that want to run Audacity on obsolete/heritage/antique operating systems?waxcylinder wrote: I suspect that we will still need 1.2 for some of the older platforms that still persist

Re: Creating MP3 files with track selection options for list
Would this be a workable solution:
Click here to download sample pack.
Obviously you could use MP3s in your "pack".

Re: A Quick Inquiry
Is there a possible option of setting up two mics (clip ons) connected via a converter to a USB port? Audacity can record from one "device" at a time. That's one USB microphone, or one mono or stereo USB microphone pre-amp, or one USB sound card, or one internal sound card.... You could u...

Re: LAME vbr mp3 export wasting space
You can test it out by adding "--nores" to the lame external command export and you should get a similar size to what Audacity produces. Yes, very similar. Good articles: Yes, thanks. They explain it very well. We disable its usage and this was a carry over from the Blade API. But we defi...

Re: 'Cursor' display issue
Yes it's a bug and yes it's been fixed. However I don't know if the bug was in Audacity, in the graphics drivers or somewhere else, or a combination of issues. I do know that a couple of updates later the problem disappeared. I appreciate that updating over dial-up can be problematic, and if you upg...

Re: Converting long multi-track file into many single-track
I thought you may have taken waxcylinder's advice and upgraded. Audacity 1.2 was first released in 2004. The final update was in 2008. That's ancient in software development terms. If it's a bug in 1.2.6, which it may well be, it will not be fixed because all work on the 1.2.6 version ended in 2008....
