Re: A Quick Inquiry
Some suggestions: A "Behringer Podcastudio USB" just about fits into your budget. (one microphone that can be hand held) or You could get parts separately, for example: 2 x Audio Technica ATR 3350 (tie-clip microphones - about $20 each) 1 x Phonic AM220 mixer (about $90) 1 x Behringer U-Co...

Re: 1.3.13 RC1 won't run on Win 2k
That links to the "Nightly Build" that is listed here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows
What's the file name of your downloaded file?
What did you do with the download?
Does 1.3.12 work on your system?
What exactly "doesn't work" in 1.3.13?

Re: Inverse eq based on frequency analysis
An interesting idea. It has been discussed on the forum previously, but I don't know if anyone has actually done it yet. Off the top of my head, the first thought that comes to mind is that when converting from the spectrum data, you will need to decide on a lower threshold value. Let's take an extr...

Re: 1.3.13 RC1 won't run on Win 2k
We strongly advise that people only obtain Audacity directly from the official download site. http://audacityteam.org/download/ The "direct link" on that web site is for Audacity 1.2.6 (which is ancient and not recommended for modern machines). Audacity 1.3.13 is due to be released this mo...

Re: audacity effects
"SVN" is a "revision control system" (the full name of SVN is "Apache Subversion"). What it does is to organise the "source code" (the computer code that the developers write) and allow multiple people to work on different parts of it at the same time. It also...

Re: How Do I improve the quality?
The recording has exaggerated frequencies around 1 kHz (1000 Hz). This is the "resonance" that I was talking about. This effect is perhaps being exaggerated further by your speakers as it doesn't sound too bad here. It is possible to "cut off" the top/bottom of big waveforms, but...

Re: Can't install ffmpeg import/export
I Vista U. first used "audacity-win-1.2.6", this version doesn't ask for the FFmpeg library, Audacity 1.2.6 cannot use FFmpeg, so it is limited to WAV, AIFF, FLAC, OGG and MP3 formats only. Also, Audacity 1.2.6 is not recommended for Vista as it has multiple known problems on modern compu...
