Re: I am really really new, and ummm help?
I think your best strategy might be to just get stuck in and see what you can do with it. Check out some of the Tips and Tutorials (see links at top of the page or directly below this post). Audacity 1.3 includes quite a few effects as standard, so have a go with those first and see what they all do...

Re: Suggestions for bundled GVerb plugin
Is the problem you described here: There's some limitations to what the default values can be. Each slider can take one of the following values: 0, 100, minimum, 1/4 scale, 1/2 scale, 3/4 scale, maximum. fixable by switching to another type of slider or setting the number entry box etc? that sounds...

I don't have Win 2k to test on, so I've passed this question on to the developers. Someone should get back to you shortly.

There's some limitations to what the default values can be. Each slider can take one of the following values: 0, 100, minimum, 1/4 scale, 1/2 scale, 3/4 scale, maximum. I've no idea how to implement presets, but I've managed to change the default values and the slider ranges. I've compiled GVerb on ...

Re: Help! My interface has changed!
Which version of Audacity are you using? (Look in "Help menu > About Audacity") Do you have Audacity "full screen" or as a smaller window? (the toolbars will shuffle around to fit the available space). The Toolbar options are in the "View" menu. You can enable/disable o...

Re: First Audio record repets over again on other records. H
The problem is probably your sound card's "Record" settings. Check the Record settings for your sound card - you probably have it set to record from "Stereo Mix" (sometimes called "What U Hear", or "Mix"). You need to set the recording source to the actual inp...

Re: How Do I improve the quality?
Small speakers, particularly computer speakers will often exaggerate middle'ish frequencies. The issue was noticeable on my headphones and speakers, so it's not "just" your speakers, but your speakers may be making it sound worse than it really is. Anyhow, the "After Equalization"...

Re: No playback w/ usb mic
I'd recommend upgrading to Audacity 1.3 http://audacityteam.org/download/
Go into the audio device settings (Audacity 1.3 "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices". Audacity 1.2 "Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O")
Set the "Playback" device to your sound card.
