Re: Cisco Phone Prompts and WAV U-Law format
When converting a wav to the format needed for Cisco CME MOH I needed to click on the drop down arrow and set that channel to MONO even though there was now only one channel of audio after separating the channels and deleting one. If you are splitting a stereo track to create a mono track, use &quo...

Re: Suggestions for bundled GVerb plugin
I find it somewhat depressing that your post to -devel garnered not a single reply. Actually I sent it to the QA list and only Cc: to devel. The timing of my post was probably a bit unfortunate as everyone is tied up with the release of Audacity 1.3.13 at the moment. Have you made any progress with...

Re: Latency setup for ACER i3
Latency correction needs to be set up on the specific machine if it is to be done accurately - there are too many variables to be able to give an accurate figure without going through the "latency test set-up method" on that specific machine. See here for instructions on how to set it up c...

Re: How Do I improve the quality?
The default "Quality" settings in Audacity are: 32-bit (float), 44100 Hz. It looks like Windows Movie Maker should be able to Import WAV files, so I would recommend that you Export from Audacity as 16-bit WAV ( http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Importing-files-into-Windows-M...

Re: Hiding Metadata editor on export
As far as I'm aware, the current 1.3 version of Audacity can correctly open projects made by all previous versions (at least as far back as Audacity 1.2. Of course old versions of Audacity cannot be expected to support new features that did not exist when the old software was written, and as bgravat...

Oh yes I remember. Unfortunately it looks like you've run into another old version bug.
Were you planning to upgrade your OS soon?

Re: Vox synth pads
Yes that was a "generator" rather than an "effect". For generating a "string pad" type sound you need a lot of overtones/harmonics. You could start with one or more square waves or triangle waves, or saw waves, to produce a rich frequency spectrum (additive synthesis), ...

Re: Recording both input and output.
Recording Skype with Audacity rarely works at all, and at best does not work well. Skype recording is a lot more successful using specialist software such as "Pamela" or "Total Recorder". These are non-free commercial programs, but unlike most of the "free" Skype record...

Does the folder "/home/argh/.audacity-data/AutoSave/" exist?
Are you logged into the computer as "argh"?
Did you launch Audacity as a regular user? (you should not run Audacity as root)
