Re: error while opening sound device?
The guy on youtube made it look so simple It IS simple, once you know how to do it on your system. The difficult bit is that computers are different (different sound cards and different configurations). As with everyone else that has asked about this, we need to know the details about your set-up. ...

Re: Merge 3 tracks into one
Topic moved to the Audacity 1.3.x part of the forum. Import each file into its own track, then use the "Time Shift" tool to slide the tracks left/right so that they play in sequence. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tools_Toolbar Optionally you may wish to fade-out / fade-in the tracks (...

Re: Clicks on VO track recorded w/ music
The clicks are due to "drop-outs". This is where the computer system is not running fast enough to record continuously, so breaks / skips / discontinuities occur in the recording. Here is a close up of one of the clicks: firsttrack000.png As Gale suggested, look at the "Trouble Shooti...

Re: is it possible to group some tracks all together?
In Audacity 1.3.12 you can select multiple tracks and move them together. To select more than one track, make the required selection in one track, then use the up/down cursor keys to move to the next required track and press "Enter" to toggle its selection on/off. Audacity 1.3.12 is availa...

Re: raw pcm speed is incorrect
RAW files do not contain any "header" information to tell Audacity what the correct data format is, so it is necessary for you to enter that information manually when importing RAW files. My guess is that you need to specify: Encoding: Signed 16 bit PCM Byte order: Little-endian Channels: ...

Re: Save Project Failure
On the drive the sermon audio file is located, there is currently 14.4 GB free disk space. Ouch, that's running pretty close. Windows should always be allowed 10% free space on each drive. This is particularly important on the C: drive as Windows usually has the swap file there and if the computer ...

Re: [Mac] Building Audacity on Mac OS X 10.5.8
I'm not able to help with the compile errors as I'm unfamiliar with building on Macs, but I would recommend that you give up with Audacity 1.2.6 and concentrate on building from the current 1.3 source code. The 1.2.6 version will often not run at all on modern Macs, and if it does then it's likely t...
