Re: Find Maximum and other suggestions
I still think a manual Find Max would be useful, even if it doesn't do all the other bits I suggested. It shouldn't bee too hard to make a Nyquist plug-in to do something like that. Perhaps you'd like to propose it on the Nyquist board (start a new topic here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforu...

Re: MAudio 1010lt records only 7-50 seconds
Unfortunately there could be any number of reasons for this problem, but it looks like somewhere along the line the audio stream between sound card and Audacity has been dropped, causing the recording to freeze. As you say that you're using ALSA, I presume that you do not have PulseAudio installed? ...

Re: Phase Shift 180 degress an annoying sound to cancel it
I've ... moved into a new apartment and can hear a *crazy* high pitched background sound. You mean that throughout the apartment you can hear a high pitched sound? Where's it coming from, inside the apartment or outside? If it's inside the apartment, try turning off everything electrical one at a t...

Re: What happened to the click track
I think it would be worth contacting the maintainers of Puppy as it sounds like their build of Audacity is broken. I suspect that when they built the package that they checked basic functionality but probably didn't check some of the more in-depth features such as Nyquist effects. If you do contact ...

Re: binaural recording questions
On a PC it may work with the microphone jack socket, however, please note that computer microphone sockets are often mono. Also, they are usually designed to use a 3 contact mini-jack plug, not a 5 contact mini-jack, so the computer socket may not be compatible. Most Macs do not have microphone inpu...

Re: getting music to windows media player
Files should be added automatically to the Windows Media Player library when you play them, providing that they are played from the hard drive and not from removable media. I don't use Windows Media Player and have eradicated it from my computer, so I'm not going to be able to help much with this. P...

Re: Playback cuts the end off
The only real solution that I'm aware of is to use Audacity with Jack audio server. It will then play right up to the final sample of the selection.
Usually I just select a bit more than I need to hear.

Re: Can I apply an effect as I monitor
Audacity doesn't do real-time processing. However, if you run Jack audio server you could then use "Jack Rack" and any LADSPA Equalizer of your choice as real-time processors. There is a 15-band graphic Eq ( Multiband EQ ) included in the "swh-plugins" pack. All of these packages...

Re: Visual Studio 2010 Pro
If you're just getting back into coding after a 10 year break, I was wondering if you are committed to programming on Windows? I only as because building Audacity on Linux is so simple that even I can do it (most of the time)

Re: What happened to the click track
How did you install Audacity? Did you build it from the source code, or install a PET, or something else?
