Re: RECORDING LOW BACKGROUND MUSIC W/ VOICE
The Audacity Project only needs to be saved if you want to do more work on it at a later date. A common work-flow is as follows: 1) Record 2) Export the unedited recording as a WAV file (this is a back-up copy). 3) Edit and process the recording as desired 4) Export the finished audio as a WAV file ...
Re: no signal
Does the Tascam device (what Tascam device?) appear as an available recording device in the Sounds section of the Windows Control Panel?
Is it selected in the Windows Control Panel as the default recording device?
What sample rate and what bit-depth are you using on the Tascam?

Re: taglib missing from 1.3.13 source code
Strange. It was in the full source tarball up to and including 1.3.11, but is missing in 1.3.12 and 1.3.13.
I'll make some enquiries.

Re: Exporting Multiple Tracks Together
I'm using Audacity 1.3.13 Beta. Oops, you posted on the Audacity 1.2 part of the forum. Is your arrangement of tracks and labels something like this: tracks002.png If so, "File menu > Export Multiple" Select "Split files based on Labels " Name files "Using Label/Track name&...

Re: 1.3.x (Beta) with Mac OS X and Spitfish De-esser
The SpitFish De-esser does work on Audacity 1.3 on Windows.
I don't know about Macs and was hoping that Leland could fill in some detail.
I''ll ask if any of the Mac guys can drop in and advise about using the AU version of the effect.

Re: Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop: compiling 1.2.6 issues
It is possible to get Audacity 1.2.6 to install on Ubuntu, but when I did so it was a total pain and was highly unstable. Definitely not worth the effort. One of the main problems is that Audacity 1.2.6 requires old (obsolete) libraries that are no longer in Ubuntu (the current versions of several o...

Re: Vibrato Nyquist script
That'll work very nicely for very short sounds, but the maximum size of a wavetable is only 100000 samples (about 2 seconds at 44100 Hz). Is there a way to work round that?edgar-rft wrote: If you turn the Audacity "s" sound into a wavetable

Re: How to change input level for Behringer UCA202
I'm pulling line out of the mixer as a 1/4" output into one of the channels on the INPUT of the UCA202. I don't know the make and model of the mixer. It belongs to the band and I'm just showing up to try some live recording. The line level output on the mixer is not adjustable. Most mixers wil...

Re: MAudio 1010lt records only 7-50 seconds
If I had a 1010lt, I'd see it as an opportunity to build a killer Linux audio box. ALSA + Jack is the way to go, and for best performance, use a real-time kernel. Probably a good place to start is to get the thing running first, then rebuild the system a few times as you get to know the ins, outs an...
