Re: Noise Removal Tests
I've tested Noise Removal with FFT set to 8192 Compared with an FFT size of 2048, more noise is removed with less damage to the remaining sound. The differences are most noticeable with "synthetic" tests (tones over low level noise), but also apply to real world test samples, though the im...

Re: Vibrato Nyquist script
It's interesting that when you add the user controls, it enables Audacity's undo feature, whereas the version without the user controls can't be undone You should be able to Undo the effect when applied from the Nyquist Prompt, but it won't be listed as "vibrato", it should be listed as &...

Re: fixing output to jack-rack when jack-rack PIDF has chang
OK, I see the problem. Jack Patchbay can be set to route Jack-Rack, using a regex jack_rack_[0-9]+ but Audacity ignores that and tries to use the specific instance of Jack-Rack that it used last, but when that's not found (because the PIDF has changes), it falls back on "system". So you're...

Re: Storage problem v 1.3.13-beta
I just have to adapt hundreds of my existing files with this handycap yet when I will use v 1.3.13-beta. Are you saying that you have Audacity Projects that do not open in Audacity 1.3.13, but do open in a previous version of Audacity? Look in Audacity "Help menu > About Audacity". What e...

Re: editing out sudden audience noise
It will not be possible to completely repair the damage, but there are a couple of ways that you may be able to make it less noticeable. 1) Zoom in close on the place where the bang is. Select the bang as closely as you can and delete it. 2) Try the PopMute plug-in (version 0.2) from here: http://fo...

Re: fixing output to jack-rack when jack-rack PIDF has chang
You've posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum, but I bet you're using a 1.3.x version of Audacity. Look in the Audacity "Help menu > About Audacity" for the exact version number. The latest (1.3.13) version of Audacity has improved connection control when used with Jack. The "...

Re: Export problem if file name contains extra dot
using dots in a file name is generally not forbidden therefore allowed in Windows. That's correct, using dots in file names is not forbidden, so you can do so, but that's not to say that you should :) You will notice in that article that there are special cases regarding the use of dots in file nam...

Re: Audacity and Acid Pro 7 Q ?
I'm not sure that we will be able to help much as this is more a question about Acid than it is about Audacity. You may be able to update the file in Acid by overwriting the original WAV file (assuming that it is a WAV file that you are using in Acid). You would do that by "Exporting" from...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
Hi Dick, Thanks for the report. PopMute is a third-party plug-in and not directly a part of Audacity, so it's best to post feedback/bug reports directly to the third party rather than in a general Audacity part of the forum. In this case, I'm the third party and this is currently the "home page...
